Crystal Augustine Sears, a cherished and faithful soul, went to be with her savior surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer on November 25, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on December 19, 1953, in West Virginia, Crystal lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family and faith.
Crystal is survived by her sisters, Alice (Lawton) Grantham and Glenda (George) Sommerfield, both of Columbus, GA, and Lorita (William) Schlegel of Reva, VA; her brother, Lonnie Cox, of Monaco, PA; her daughters, Tina (Eric) Daugherty of Lawrenceville, GA, Candice (Michael) Politi of Hobe Sound, FL, and Roxan (Dave) Lombardi of Lincoln, KY. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Brandon, Logan, Isaac, and Johanna and great grandchildren; Sadie and Nico.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edman Cox; her mother, Mary Cox; her brother, Arnold Cox; her sister, Nelda Ward; and her nephew, William Ortiz.
Crystal was very family-oriented and loved her family deeply. She was known for her deep Christian faith and had a passion for horses, thrifting, and traveling.
A visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, located at 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, on November 30, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place in the Fisher Chapel at the same location, starting at 3:00 pm.
