Daniel Lamar Hagler

August 30, 1933 -March 28, 2014

Columbus, Georgia- Daniel Lamar Hagler, age 80, resident of Columbus, died on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Kenneth Hagler and Reverend Mike McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Mill Room on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Mr. Hagler, son of the late Ira Nathaniel Hagler and Versie Phillips, was born August 30,1933 in Barbour County, Alabama. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed meeting his friends every day at Burger King for breakfast. (The family refers to them as his "Burger King Buddies") Other than his parents, Mr. Hagler is preceded in death by his brother Hubert Hagler. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernice Irene Hagler; children, Rhonda Elizabeth Jones (Eric) of Columbus Ga., Dennis Lamar Hagler (Caroline) of Midland, Ga.; grandchildren, Caitlin Elana Hagler of Midland, Ga., Vincent Taylor Chai of Columbus, Ga., Chasity Faith Ellenburg of Seattle, Wa.; sisters, Merle Smith, Voncille Shepard, Mauline Moates; numerous nieces and nephews.
