Dr. David Alan Hines passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2024, in Columbus, Georgia. He was 72 years old. Dr. Hines proudly served his Country in the United States Army, and recently retired from the Department of Defense where he was assigned as Chief, Department of Warrior Care, Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore, Georgia.
Dr. Hines was preceded in death by his father, James W. Hines, Sr. of Connellsville, Pennsylvania, and his mother Bernie Hines, also of Connellsville, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Hines is survived by the love of his life, his wife and best friend; Irma Jo White Hines of Upatoi, Georgia. He is also survived by his brother; James W. Hines, Jr. and wife Marilyn of Westerville, Ohio and his sister; Debbie Hines Francolini and husband Bob of Hillsborough, New Jersey.

Kristina White Traylor and husband James of Grand Bay, Alabama, Rachel Traylor Seaman, MD and husband Larry of Moss Point, Mississippi, William James Traylor and wife Danielle of Mobile, Alabama,
Frank Barnes and wife Tonya of Columbus, Georgia, Kevin Hines and wife Amber of Arvada, Colorado, Scott Hines and wife Melissa of Louisville, Kentucky, Preston Seaman of Moss Point, Mississippi, Harper Seaman of Moss Point Mississippi, Carson Traylor of Mobile, Alabama, Katherine Barnes of Columbus, Georgia, Cyril Washington, Sr., Annette Washington, and William Washington of Columbus, Georgia, Braden, Katie, Ethan, and Lillie Dickson of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Abigail and William Hines of Arvada, Colorado, and Colin and Frances Hines of Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Hines also leaves behind his 2 very special “girls;” Zena Jo Hines and Alana (Ali) Jo Hines whom he loved dearly.
A Funeral Service with Military Honors for Dr. Hines will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Edgewood Hall, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 3:00PM. Minister Cyril Washington will be officiating service. Family will visit with friends an hour prior to service.
