David Alan Wiese, age 58, of Box Springs, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021. A Celebration of David's life will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia.
David was born September 22, 1963 in Moline, Illinois; the son of Gary Richard Wiese and Beverly Ann Andresen Wiese.
David married Veronica Lynne Haber in Lakeland, Florida on June 4, 1988.
David believed in working hard – a legacy from his German/Norwegian farmer grandparents and ancestors. He believed in forgiving, in loving big and in doing whatever he could to help others. Family and friends were his number one love after God. David is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His favorite scripture, in his own words, was “I will go and I will do what God wants me to do.” (1 Nephi 3:7) He loved helping in any way he could to make peoples lives better including adopting many into their family including missionaries and friends of his daughters. David was a great example of how to be strong in the face of struggles. His family and those close to him learned by his example to forgive, love unconditionally and how to laugh. Everything made him laugh from crazy t-shirts (he was known for these), his grandson’s smiles, flatulence, silly “dad jokes”, tickling and poking his daughters in the side; especially when they retaliated and “poke wars” began. He found joy in making others laugh. David enjoyed time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, who loved when he got the trains out, they raced slot cars together and whenever they played Mario cart together. He loved Santa Claus and being able to be Santa.
He is preceded in Death by: his dad, Gary Wiese and his daughters, Kara and Joanna.
Survivors include: his Wife, Veronica Lynn Wiese; daughters, Ashley Nicole (Shaun) Edwards, Rebecca Ann Wiese, Victoria Lynn Wiese, Grace Anne Burkett, Tammy Trammel Burkett, and Gabrielle Burkett, 4 precious grandsons, his mother Beverly Ann Wiese, Brothers Richard (Laura) Wiese, Eric (Kim) Wiese, dearly loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends of the family who will cherish his memory.
