Dora Frances Jones Howard

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday December 15, 2011 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Howard was born February 23, 1927 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Julius Anderson Jones and Ruby Davis Jones and was also preceded in death by her husband, Thacker Woodruff Howard, Sr., her son, T. W. "Woody" Howard, Jr. and her brother, Julius Anderson Jones. She had worked in the accounting department for Royal Crown Cola in her earlier years. She was a member of the Gallops Senior Center and did volunteer work. Mrs. Howard was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Phenix City, AL and attended St. Anne's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Jo Howard, a granddaughter, Jessica Leigh Howard, a great grandson, Isaac Woodruff Hoover all of Columbus, GA, a sister, Alma (Bert) Jones Coville of Miami, FL, numerous nieces and nephews.
