

Hospice House. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 4th in the Chapel of the Pines in
Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
Doris was born in Phenix City, Alabama to James Rentfroe and Rosa Lee Haines, on July 5, 1923. Doris
graduated from Jordan High School in 1943. On July 5, 1942, she married William P. Greene Jr. They had
four children. She was employed as Director at Miller’s Nursery School. She loved spending time with
family and friends especially her lunch and bingo partners. Doris enjoyed dancing and playing Bingo, so
much so she earned the nickname, “Bingo Queen” at Covenant Woods.
Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband William P. Greene Jr.; daughter, Nancy Greene;
grandson Timothy Greene; and three sisters, Dorothy Rentfroe, Gloria Kocian, and Peggy Hammett.
She is survived by son, Richard L. Greene (Linda); two daughters, Linda D. Anderson (Frank) and Shirley
L. Gaultney (Bill); 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and friends.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Columbus Hospice, Caregivers, and Dr. Gregory Foster for
their wonderful care and love to our Mother.
