Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Randy Comer officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morris was born in Columbus, GA. on December 10, 1929 to the late Edwin McLeod and Myrtice Cannon McLeod. She was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby A. Morris, Sr, a son, Jerry Lee Morris, siblings, Roy McLeod, Ralph McLeod and Margaret Paul.
Survivors include her five children, Fay Newsome and husband Toby of Phenix City, Janice Hollingsworth and husband Bob of Huntington Beach, CA, Bob A. Morris of Phenix City, Linda Jacobs of Phenix City and Ricky Morris of Phenix City, three sisters, Lessie Holloway of Columbus, Mildred Taylor of Box Springs, Ga. and Joyce Johnson of Columbus, 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
