

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Antioch Baptist Church in Fortson, Georgia on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 4:00 PM.
Douglass McCarty Warner was born on January 18, 1951 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Sylvia and Winfred Douglass Warner. He came from a very close family whom he loved and cherished. Doug was mentored by his father and grandfather to be a loving and caring Christian man. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Fortson and was employed at Textron-Cessna- McCauley. Doug has been a fan of the Mustang cars since having his first one when he was able to drive. He enjoyed NHRA-Drag racing and other car races on occasion. He had a soft spot in his heart when it came to kittens- “Nothing in the world cuter than a kitten” “Anyone who doesn’t like kittens, something must be wrong with them” that was what he would say when there was a kitten in sight.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette M. Warner; sister, Susan Denham; brother-in-law, John Stephen King; daughters, Laura Warner and Lindsey Warner both of Atlanta, Georgia; good friends, Mike Murphy, Ed Buchanan, and Jose Rivera; three stepdaughters, Michelle Mock, Connie Clark and Samantha Stephens.
In lieu of flowers the family has ask that donations be made to the John B. Amos Cancer Center, 1831 5th Ave. Columbus, GA 31904 or to Antioch Baptist Church 275 Antioch Church Rd, Fortson, GA 31807 in memory of Douglass M. Warner.
