

Dutchie Lee Baggett, age 97, passed away on January 12, 2011 in Gainesville, GA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Don R. Wilhite officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until service time. Mrs. Baggett was born on March 19, 1913 to the late George Frank Granberry and Margaret P. Granberry in Headland, Al. She attended high school at Henry County High School and upon graduation, moved to Columbus to be with her sisters. Mrs. Baggett was employed at the Bibb Mill, where she met her husband Max Baggett, who married her on December 13, 1935. After World War II, she assisted Max in the development of their grocery and real estate business, where they worked for over 50 years. Mrs. Baggett had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 60 years. The last year of her life was spent at Autumn Breeze Assisted Living Facility in Gainesville, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Baggett and her son Max E. "Gene" Baggett. She will be remembered as a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. We will miss her never ending zest for life, stories and giving of herself to others. Her memories will be cherished forever in our hearts. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Alyce Baggett of San Antonio, TX, a daughter-in-law, Cassandra Sandy Baggett of Gainesville, GA; two grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa P. and Piper Cohn of Roswell, GA and Christopher M. and Kristi Baggett of Gainesville, GA; two great-grandchildren, Zachary M. Baggett and Savannah C. Baggett and two brothers, William Granberry of Sarasota, FL and Glenn Granberry of Headland, AL.
