Steve worked at Goolsby Foods while in high school. He worked at Polychrome/Kodak for 28 years where he then went to HPPE for a year. Not long after he started a new path with Bridgestone Bandag. He made lots of friends throughout the years. Steve was a hard worker. He went above and beyond to get the job done. He would always help anyone who needed it because it was his in nature.
Steve was a member of the Valley Dove Club. And many years ago a member of the Tri-County hunting club, and the Soggy Bottom hunting club. He loved to hunt deer, turkey, rabbit, and dove. He loved the outdoors and shooting guns. But his true passion was deep sea fishing on his boat called “The Legend”. He had fishing in his blood from many years of fishing in Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe, Florida with his family growing up. He was known by his closest friends as “Captain Steve”, and he would always say he would go fishing everyday if he could. We know that is what he is doing now.
Steve also loved flying RC airplanes in his teenage years with his dad and his brother. He was a graduate of Shaw high school class of 1989. He also had gotten his degree in Industrial Maintenance at Columbus Technical College. He was a jack of all trades, and had a strong passion for life by living each day to the fullest and not waiting on retirement.
Steve was a volunteer Firefighter/ First Responder for the state of Georgia for many years. He also loved to play his guitar. He cared deeply for his family, and loved going on different adventures whenever he could. He will be missed in person, but always in our hearts. We love you forever.
