Ernest B. Hale Jr.

Ernest B. Hale Jr., age 93, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022. A visitation for family and friends of Ernest will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Following the visitation, the graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Ernest was born October 30, 1928 in Bertie County, North Carolina: the son of Ernest B. Hale, Sr. and Cora Parker Hale.

Ernie, E.B., or Hale as he has been known throughout life, is a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered for his positive spirit, love of family, always helping others, and choosing kindness and an inspiration for all.

Ernest is preceded in death by: his wife, Rebecca Stephens Hale; a son, Steve Hale; three brothers, Thomas Hale (Margaret), James Hale (June), Albert Hale (Helen); two sisters, Annie Ruth Hale White (Willard), and Mary Hale Grover.

Survivors include: his daughter, Pamela Hale Coburn (Tommy); a daughter-in-law, Kathy Hale; grandsons, Trippe Stephens Hale (Adela), Carson Scott Hale, Thomas Clay Coburn; great granddaughter, Mila Grace Hale; a brother, Dana Hale (Beryl); and a sister-in-law, Virginia Stephens.

The family would like to give a special thank you to, Priscilla Walton, Ute Chavers, Lana Harrelson, Oz White, Wynnton UMC Goodwill Class, the Brookside Glen Staff, and to the Amos Cancer Center Dr.’s and staff.
