A Visitation of Family and Friends for Ernest will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. Following the Visitation of Family and Friends will be a Graveside Celebration of EJ's' life from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
EJ was a hard worker and good provider. He loved his daughter, and enjoyed taking her fishing. EJ was fun to be around, and will always be remembered as having a great personality, good attitude, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by; father Stephen Phelps and mother Norma Barnes. He is survived by; daughter Morgan Phelps; step father Johnny Barnes; brother Cecil Young, sisters Nikki Page and Tina Stone; uncle Larry Parker, and aunt Sarah Parker; other family members and many friends.
