She was born on October 12, 1925 to the late Louie Butts and Cora Lee Jordan Butts. Ethel was married to the late Vernon C. Hendry, they made their home in Columbus. She enjoyed gardening and spending time in the yard with her flowers. Always full of joy, and had a camera in her hand to capture all the good times with family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon Hendry; brothers: Louie Frank Butts, Joe Edwin Butts, Tulles Winfred Butts; and sister, Helen Dennis.
Mrs. Hendry is survived by her son Royce Butts; grandson, Brian Petry; granddaughter Janell Butts; brother Johnny Windell Butts and his wife Rachel; sister-in-law, Deloris Butts; brother-in-law, James Dennis; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia. After the committal service in Parkhill Cemetery the family will have a reception in the Mill Room at Striffler-Hamby.
