
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Reverend Earl Rawlins will officiate. The family will receive family and friends today from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hannah was born March 27, 1925 in Clayton, Alabama, daughter of the late William Coker Dunn and Clemmie Edwards Dunn. She was the widow of John R. Hannah, Jr. and preceded her in death by her sisters, Sara Williams, Margaret Marshall and her brother Bo Dunn. She lived all over the United States and Europe before settling in Columbus, Georgia. She was a full time wife to her husband who was a career army officer. She devoted her life to taking care of her family and children, packing them up, moving them across states and continents helping them get settled whenever duty called. She thrived on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved cooking, growing beautiful flowers and watching her family grow were her passions.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Jean (Larry) Joiner, John R. Hannah, III, James Robert (Betty) Hannah, William L. (Debbie) Hannah, a brother, Charles (Dot) Dunn, her grandchildren, Ben Hannah, Chris Hannah, Jennifer Hannah, Josh Hannah, Ryan Hannah, Sara Hannah and David Joiner, 7 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Maudean Warren, Barbara Cox, Mary Moseley, nieces and nephews
