Evelyn A. Owens

Evelyn A. Owens, age 84, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, died on Monday, November 16, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Thursday, November 19, 2015, 11 a.m. with Pastor Robert French officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. Owens, daughter of the late Levi Rudolph Morris Sr., and Lovie Alene Myers Morris, was born July 8, 1931 in Columbus. She was a homemaker and member of North Highland Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, Bernest P. Owens; one brother; and one sister.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra Goodson and her husband Buster of Columbus; three sons, Mike Owens of Columbus, Dennis Owens and Lynda of Cataula, Georgia, and Keith Owens and his wife Dee of Phenix City, Alabama; three sisters, Minnie Youngblood of Hamilton, Georgia, Loraine Sobasky and her husband Daniel of Columbus, and Carolyn Roberson of Columbus; one brother, Levi Rudolph Morris, Jr and his wife Betty of Columbus; fifteen grandchildren, David, Russell, Brandon, Brooke, Adam, Jason, Angel, Wendy, Brandi, Roger, Matthew, Josh, Mandi, Missi, and Josh; thirty one great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
