Dot Doswell, 76, of Columbus, GA, a devoted wife and mother, passed away August 28, 2018 under the loving care of Kindred Hospice. Dot was born in Marion County December 8, 1941 to her late parents Gerald Bryan and Rena Bartlett Bryan. She was a homemaker, loved her family, and loved to garden. Dot will always be remembered for her gentle kindness and strength.
Mrs. Doswell will be available for viewing Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM in The St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A grave side Celebration of Dot’s Life will be Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Gail Smith.
Along with her parents, Dot is preceded in death by: her son Charles "Chuck" W. Doswell, Jr.; brothers, Stout, Robert, and Bernard Bryan. She is survived by: her husband of 56 years, Charles W. Doswell, Sr.; daughter, Twyla Jacobs of Columbus; five sisters, Dean (James) Hunter, Sue (Donald) Puckett, and Joann Bryan, all of Columbus, GA, Eva Johnson of Ellaville, GA, and Gail (Bobby) Smith of Irwinton, GA; one brother, Bobby (Shirley) Bryan of Tazewell, GA; and sister in-law Patsy Bryan; a bundle of nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews, other family members and many friends.
