Everett Dwain Branson

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2010 at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA with Reverend Jake Hall officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel.

SSG (Ret.) Branson was born January 10, 1927 in Bourbois Township, MO to the late Alfred P. and Thelma Branson. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 distinguished years of service which include tours of combat in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. During his military career he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, and many others medals and commendations. SSG (Ret.) Branson also retired from Finkley Trucking after many years of service. His gentle character was great, and his memory will live forever in our daily lives.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 yrs, Elisabeth Branson of Columbus; two sons, Benjamin Everett Branson of England, and Anthony T. Branson of Missouri; two daughters, Kathleen M. Palmer of Missouri and, Astrid Morell of Germany; two granddaughters, Alexandra Morrel, and Natalie Morrel of Germany; one brother, Clyde A. Branson of Missouri; one sister Thelma May Branson of Missouri .
