Freddie Richardson

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with burial to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Reverend Dennis Lacey, Gene Forehand and Robert French will officiate. The family will receive friends and family Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Richardson was born August 15, 1931 in Irwin County, GA son of the late Fred W. Richardson and Millie Petty Richardson. He served on the Columbus Police Department for 16 years and retired from the Department of Corrections with 21 years of service. He was a former member of Midland Masonic Lodge, the Fraternal Order of Police for 40 years and a member of North Highland Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Richardson of Columbus, his daughter, Freda (Tommy) Stewart of Midland, GA, his sons, Tommy (Joann) Richardson of Warner Robins, GA and Steve (Kathy) Richardson of Elk Grove, CA. Also surviving are 11 brothers and sisters, Mickey Richardson, George (Gwen) Richardson, Larry (Marilyn) Richardson, David (Dale) Richardson, Renee (Ronnie) Spivey, Diane Smith, Linda (Robert) Vickers, Evelyn (Bob) Bargainer, Hazel (Scott) Greene, Mavis (Leroy) Morgan and Millie Jo (Lynn) Hobbs, 5 grandchildren, Ellen (Eric) McKelvey, Joshua Richardson, Melissa (Ben) Haringa, Emily Richardson and Stephanie Richardson, 2 great grandchildren, Annabelle Richardson and Brinley McKelvey, godson, Trent and his mother, Linda Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews.
