Gladys Faye Lewis

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2:30 PM in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Hwy 165 Fort Mitchell, AL with Reverend Paul Buckhiester officiating. Family will visit with friends at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations are asked to be made to Midway United Methodist Church, 4442 Buena Vista Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Gladys Faye Montgomery Lewis was born on April 13, 1929 in Danville, Arkansas to the late Ester Sandlin Montgomery and Roy R. Montgomery. She was married to the late O.D. Lewis. Mrs. Lewis was a sales associate at J.C. Penny in Columbus. She was an active member of Midway United Methodist Church working in the nursery and with Mothers Morning Out until her health wouldn’t allow her. Her other volunteer duties were with Meals on Wheels delivering a hot meal and sharing a smile for years. Mrs. Lewis enjoyed quilting, crafts, reading and spending time with her family.

She leaves her legacy to her children, Connie Faye (Terry) Loggans, Carl W. (Judy) Lewis, Nona Lewis (Butch) Stanford, and Leslie Lee (Rollie) Dykstra; sister, Boydean Arnolds; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends to cherish her loving memory.
