H. Wayne Kirkland

H. Wayne Kirkland, age 67, resident of Stanwood, WA and former resident of Columbus, died on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Providence Everett Medical Center-Colby, Everett, WA. Memorial services will be held in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Thursday, June 9, 2011, 6 p.m. with Reverend Neil Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends after the service until 8 p.m. Mr. Kirkland, son of late Vesper Earl Kirkland and Jewel Mavis Williams Kirkland, was born August 23, 1943 in Columbus. He was a pipefitter for over 5 years and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local #323. Mr. Kirkland was a former member of St. Andrew Methodist Church, Columbus; member of the Columbus Symphony for two years; member of the Junior Optimist Club; and also a member of the Bob Barr Alumni Band. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Kirkland. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Sanders Kirkland of Columbus; one daughter, Kelli Kirkland Tamayo and her husband Efrain Tamayo of Columbus; one son, David Kirkland of Midland, GA; one sister, Wanda Kirkland Price and her husband Bill Price of Columbus; two grandchildren, Gracelyn Tamayo and Christian Tamayo; other relatives and friends.
