Henry Reuben Cornele, age 56, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023. A celebration of Henry's life will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Ben went to Smith Station High School where he was a member of the marching band. Ben is married to William F. Cornele, Jr.. Ben retired from The Lab 2000. Ben had a love for NASCAR, Alabama football, and playing the drums with his friends. He loved riding his bike as well as buying and selling everyone’s treasures. Ben lived in calm dedication to his beloved family and many friends. Ben loved to laugh and found humor in everything. Ben was compassionate, empathetic; he lived with dignity, and showed dignity to others. Ben loved looking after his many friends and loved ones. He loved his dog “Pacco” and his Blue Quaker parrot “Timmy”. Ben loved music, it began with marching band, practice and playing became his passion. He was a really good drummer, he could hear a song and play it. Ben was a kind and a light hearted gentleman who found the best in everyone he met.
Ben is preceded in death by his parents: Willie Ray Craft, Sr. and Mother Sybil Elizabeth Craft; his brother Willie Ray Craft Jr; and his sister Martha Susan Holt.
Ben is survived by: his sisters, Donna Rae McConnell of Crawford, Al, Sharon Nell Dobbs (Ken) of Columbus, Georgia, Nealie JoAnne Haselden (Eddie) of Irmo, SC; also surviving Ben are his nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces; and numerous friends that will cherish his memories.
