COLUMBUS, GEORGIA- Homer "Gene" Kennedy, 66, passed away on September 18, 2012, surround by his loving family. Graveside services will be held in Parkhill Cemetery on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Mickey Adams officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.

Mr. Kennedy was born on September 14, 1946 to Homer Jean and Bobbye Kennedy in Americus, GA. His major emphasis in life was his family and the time he spent with all of them. Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather whom will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Jean Kennedy.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carolyn Kennedy of Fortson, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Keri Kennedy of Gainesville, GA; his daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Roderick Henderson of Hamilton, GA; his mother, Bobbye Kennedy; four grandchildren, Beth Kennedy, Ashley Kennedy, Austin Kennedy and Madison Henderson; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Laney Kennedy of Shellman, GA; and his precious pets and "granddogs."
