Jack M. Carroll, age 79, passed away on November 15, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA with Pastor Mike McBride officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Carroll was born on November 24, 1931 to the late Dallas and Nettie Carroll in Columbus, GA. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Carroll is preceded in death by three sisters, Liz McMurdy, Joann Money and Sally Mason and a brother, Louie Carroll.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Carroll of Columbus; a son, Jeff Carroll (Karen) of Columbus; a daughter, Rhonda Dowdney of Columbus; four grandchildren, Brian, Christy, Magen and Brittany; four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Mack Carroll, Jimmy Carroll, Sammy Carroll, Ralph Carroll and William Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.
