James W. Miller, 82, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on January 29, 2024. He was born on September 26, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Ruth Helms Miller and Woodrow B. Miller. James was married to the late Frances “Fran” Cobb Miller for 47 years until her death in 2009. James, known by his family as “Jimmy”, was a kind, loving husband, son, brother, and uncle. He was Christian by faith and loved sharing his love and faith in Christ. Jimmy was passionate about God’s creatures; he enjoyed quiet walks, and had an extreme connection with nature and a wonderful appreciation for the great outdoors. He could give the best birdcalls Ever! Jimmy will be forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his sister, Sally Miller Rotunno; his nieces: Sara Moon Furlong and Amy Moon; his nephew, Hank Moon; his great niece, Jamie Lett; his great nephew, Sean Lett; his best friend, Jeff Hudson and his feline companion Kitty Panama.
A graveside celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia.
