
James F. “Jim” Soltis, 82 of Columbus, Georgia passed away on May 5, 2018 at Kindred Hospice. He was born on April 6, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Victoria Marie Soltis and Jacob Fredrick Soltis. Mr. Soltis served his country in the U.S. Air Force after the end of World War II. After his service career, Mr. Soltis worked for many companies as an accountant, one of which was Southern Foods, Inc. He enjoyed working with computers and computer software, and his career included installing computer software for these companies. Mr. Soltis was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Other than his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his brothers: Richard J. Soltis, and Raymond J. Soltis; sister, Eleanor Soltis, and brother-in-law, Lavon Stripling.
Mr. Soltis is survived by: his wife, Bettie Patricia “Patty” Soltis; nephews, R. Mark Soltis, Greg L. Soltis, Frank Soltis, Robert Soltis, Dan McCarthy, and Dave McCarthy; nieces: Marybeth McCarthy, Maureen McCarthy, Christine Soltis, Karen M. Soltis; brother in-law, James (Rita) Stripling; nieces, Jennifer Howard, and Penny Stripling; nephews, Steve, Mickey, and Gary Stripling; other family members and a host of friends.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 320 12th Street, Columbus, Georgia on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
