Jane was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on October 14, 1936; the daughter of Raymond and Nellie Harrell. She married Robert “Bob” E. Davis on December 31,1952. After several years in Tennessee in 1968 they made Columbus their home. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and worked as a School Administrator at Hillcrest Baptist Church and St. Mary’s Road Christian Academy for over 20 years. Jane loved her family, friends, children, University of Tennessee sports, and music and dance. Music and Dance were both exemplified best by her nickname “The Dancing Queen” which was bestowed upon her by the staff and residents at the nursing home she had lived at for the past year and a half. In her later years it became an open secret, that if you want to get on Jane’s good side in mere seconds, all it took was a jar of cashews. She cherished her family and her friends and loved when they spent time together.
Jane is preceded in death by: her husband, Robert “Bob” Davis; her son, Mike E. Davis; and her daughter, Kathy Crumpton.
Survivors include: a son Danny (Jan) Davis; a daughter, Jenny (Kevin) Earley; a son, Roy Davis; Mike's wife, Vicki; 11 Grandchildren; and 12 Great Grandchildren.
