Janie Lynn Greene

Janie Lynn Greene of Columbus, Georgia passed away on January 22, 2025 at the age of 29. She was the loving daughter, sister, niece and cousin whose spirit and adventurous soul will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.

She was born on August 11, 1995 in Columbus, Georgia to Sandy Wyatt Greene and Roy Mitchell Greene, Jr. Janie loved life and all that life had to offer. She loved being outdoors, fishing, and all animals. She enjoyed scalloping, especially at Horseshoe Beach, Florida. She loved her feline companion, Karen the cat. Janie loved her family and was especially close to her mom, Sandy.

Janie leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her loving mother, Sandy Wyatt Greene; her father, Roy Mitchell Greene, Jr.; her paternal grandmother and namesake, “Maw” Janie Moore Greene; her sister, Ashley Gopfert Bressler (Adam); her brother, Roy M. Greene, III; her uncle and aunt, Skip Wyatt and Beth Wyatt; her cousin, Ben Wyatt; her aunt, Lynne Frakes and family; her Aunt, Leslie Dudley and family; her best friend, Victoria Covington; and several other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Roy Mitchell Greene, Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Edith Priester Wyatt and Lester Eugene Wyatt, Sr; her uncle, Dan Greene; her aunt, Susan Lee Harvey; and her cousin, Darrell Lee Harvey.

A Funeral Service for Janie will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Family and friends will visit from 1:00 PM until time of the service at 2:00 PM.
