Jeff was born on January 12, 1967, in Columbus, GA; the son of John Raif Blackstock Jr and Gloria James Herrin Blackstock. Jeff grew up in the Columbus area, attending St. Anne School, Mathew’s Elementary and he graduated from Northside High School.
Jeff worked in the family business, Blackstock House Movers. He found joy in simplifying life and living the “Golden Rule.” It allowed him to be carefree, to be down to earth, and even keeled. That’s not to say he didn’t get excited and enjoy life, because he was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Alabama Football. He was a member of Box Springs United Methodist Church. Jeff loved his family and the time he spent with them.
Jeff is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Ethel Herrin, his paternal grandparents, John and Doris Blackstock; his father, John Blackstock Jr., a brother, Michael Blackstock, and a nephew, Brandon Blackstock.
Survivors include his mother, Gloria Blackstock; special friend, Shirley Sailors; a brother, Gerald (Debbie) Herrin; nephews, Billy, Joseph, and Will Herrin; nieces Savannah and Nicole Blackstock, and many extended family members and friends of family members that will cherish his memory.
