SPC (Ret.) Jerrod M. Shrum, 35, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital. A memorial service to celebrate Jerrod’s life will be held 4:00 PM, Thursday, November 29, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Phenix City, AL. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jerrod was born January 4, 1983 in San José, CA, to Jerry Lee and Linda Ann Zahn Shrum. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 3 tours in Iraq during Iraqi Freedom. He retired early due to medical reasons. Jerrod loved to ride horses. He and his wife, Brittany met through riding horses. Jerrod was a country boy. He loved big trucks and 4 wheeling. He also enjoyed motorcycles, especially street bikes. Jerrod also was a great cook and loved to Bar-B-Que. Family was most important to Jerrod. He loved his wife and kids. His presence will be missed daily, but his spirit will live forever in our hearts.
Survivors include his wife, Brittany; his children, Clint, Rowan and Elise; his parents, Jerry and Linda Shrum; his brother, Jordan Shrum.
