Jimmie Randall “Randy Tice, Jr. a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away on June 16, 2025, at the Piedmont Northside Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. He was born on August 12, 1962, in Columbus, Georgia son to the late Patricia Taylor Tice and Jimmie Randall Tice. Randy was the brother of four sisters. He was a graduate of Jordan Vocational High School. Randy last worked with Powerlink Technologies as a Senior Alarm Manager and had over 35 years of experience in the alarm industry. His knowledge and work with fire alarm systems was known and admired by many throughout the industry. Since his teenage years Randy had helped at the Annual Shriner’s Circus along with his father, who was a past president of the Edgewood Shrine Club. Randy was involved with the Boy Scouts of America (now Scouting America) with his youngest boys and served as a den leader for several years. Throughout this time, he helped with many Cub Scout Spaghetti Dinners and BBQ fundraisers spending hours prepping and cooking the Boston butts and making awesome spaghetti sauce for these fundraisers.
Randy was passionate about giving back to others through the Shriners and Scouts, but one of his true passions was the great outdoors where he loved to fish. It was not always the catch which he enjoyed the most but the relaxation of being near the water just casting his line. Randy was an avid Atlanta Braves fan even when the team was not winning. Many wonderful memories of watching his son, Zachary, as a baseball catcher, living his dreams through him. He was an all-sports fanatic – baseball, golf, NASCAR, War Eagle!, etc.
While Randy didn’t come across always as a touchy-feely guy, his love for his children, his entire family was strong and never-ending. He would do anything for them and wanted everything life could offer for his family.
Randy leaves his loving memory to be cherished by his loving wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Tice; his children: Jimmie Randall Tice, III (Sam), Holley Elizabeth Ray (Tim), Daniel Patrick Mathis-Tice (Kylie), and Zachary Joseph Tice; his sisters: Dorothy Melinda “Lindy” Lucas, Rhonda Yvonne Barfield, and Donna Yvette Tice; his five grandchildren: Colton, Jaxson, Mason, Haley, and Helen; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Jimmie Tice; and his sister, Cynthia Faye “Cindy” Lucio.
There are no services scheduled at this time according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary of Columbus, Georgia. There are plans being made for a “Walk Down Memory Lane” gathering. But for now, Randy is doing what he often said, “I’m living the dream”.
