James Arnold was born on April 8, 1948 to the late James Edwin Arnold and Miriam Bonner
Arnold in Roanoke, Alabama. He attended Handley High School in Roanoke and then
Columbus Technical College on GI Bill due to his courageous support during the Vietnam War
after being drafted. Due to his service, James was awarded two Bronze Stars for Heroism and
Meritorious Service.
After school, James was employed with Interment Machining for thirteen years until they closed
in 2005. After marrying the love of his life Susan Begor on March 5, 1982 at First Baptist Church
in Columbus, Georgia– they moved to Harris County. Together they had a beautiful marriage of
forty-two years and James spent time working on the farm, he especially enjoyed being able to
spend time feeding and watching the birds.
James loved being part of First Baptist Church but was not able to attend in person due to his
health. The wonderful thing about James was that not even his health could slow his faith, he
became a long time viewer of the TV Ministry and found support in the Lord.
While he endured a multitude of health issues, James spent the last years of his life as a brave,
kind, honest, and patient man. He taught everyone around him how much could be said with
just a smile, and he wanted nothing more than to be remembered as a good man.
James is survived by his loving wife, Susan Begor. Survivors also include his two sisters—
Sheila Arnold and April Edwards (Denver), as well as his two brothers—Lee Arnold and Terry
Arnold (Anne). James will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
