John Clark Brooks, 53, of Columbus, Georgia passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Columbus Hospice Midtown West, with his loving mother by his side. A Funeral Service is scheduled on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby with Chaplain Allison Owen officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 P.M. EST at Hillview Memorial Gardens, 1926 Hillabee Street, Alexander City, AL 35010. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00-5:00 P.M. in the Wildwood Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Brooks, son of Loretta Joiner Brooks and late James Denny Brooks, was born April 20, 1962 in Alexander City, AL. He loved spending time with his mother and family, enjoyed watching television, especially cartoon and sitcoms. Mr. Brooks was a blessing to his family and will greatly be missed.
Other than his father, Mr. Brooks is preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Lois Brooks. Survivors include his mother, Loretta Brooks, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Linda Lane Group Home.
