John Wayne Chappell, 61, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 1PM in the St. Matthew Garden of Parkhill Cemetery.
Born on October 5, 1961, he was the son of George London and Lorine London. John married the love of his life, Jennifer on March 5, 2005 in Tennessee. They have stuck by each other’s side through it all for 17 years. He loved his family immensely and would do anything for them. John served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1984 until 1986. He was a fire fighter for the Columbus Fire Department for 12 years. John enjoyed fishing, going out to eat, sightseeing, going to the beach, and casinos. He also cherished his fur baby, Duke.
He is preceded in death by his brother, James Chappell.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jennifer Kay Chappell; children, Tanya Chappell (Jamie), Justin Chappell (Moraima), Jason Dietz, and Heather Price (Chris); his mom and dad, George and Lorine London; siblings, George London, Jr. (Glenda), Leontine Chambers (Brian), Howard Chappell; aunt, Betty Kennedy (Frank); many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
