John Cooley, age 49, of Ellerslie, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 until 1:55 pm at the Ellerslie Firehouse located at 13425 Warm Springs Rd, Ellerslie, GA; the memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm.
John was born September 27, 1971 in Plymouth, Indiana; the son of Joe and Beverly Cooley. John served in the U.S. Army, and he deployed once to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. He served with honor and retired as a Sergeant First Class. On August 7, 2009, John Married Tetyana V. Kuzmina. John attended Columbus State University. He graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business and Human Relations and was currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree. John had become a jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn’t do, and he was always willing to take time to help someone in need. He lived his life to the fullest; he loved to travel, go fishing, going off roading, and he enjoyed an ice cold Bud Light. John had a great sense of humor, he loved jokes, and could always find something to laugh about in a given situation. John was a good person, he made you want to be a better person. Time spent with family and friends was always worth the effort to do so and make those memories. However, what John truly loved was his wife, Tetyana and his son, Michael and the opportunity he had to be a husband and father.
He is preceded in death by: his father, Joe Cooley, and his sister, Donna Marie Cooley.
John is survived by his wife, Tetyana Cooley; son, Michael Cooley; son, Ruslan Spivau; and daughter-in-law, Olga Spivau; mother, Beverly Cooley; brother, Troy Cooley; grandson, Daniel Spivau, granddaughter, Zlata Spivau; and our family dog, Kocuie.
