John Henry Dixon

John was born on October 17, 1947, to Minnie Christine and Walter Dixon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was employed with the Columbus Consolidated Government where he retired after 50 years. During his free time, he enjoyed watching westerns, going fishing and listening to his country music.

He is survived by his two daughters, Carrie Dixon (John Albert) and Christie Webb (David Webb); his grandchildren, Christopher L. Dixon-Carter, Brandon Carter, Aaron Carter, John Bane, Ellen Bane and numerous nieces and nephews and a step sister. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Dixon; his parents, Walter and Minnie Dixon; and Tinnie Huckelba.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, Wildwood Room, located at 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia, 31907. The gathering is scheduled for January 24, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm.
