Joseph Acfalle Manibusan, age 62, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Thursday March 15, 2018, at Piedmont Medical Center. The Manibusan family will welcome guests for a visitation Friday, March 23, 2018, from 9:00-11:15 AM with Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia, followed by Mass with Church of the Holy Family, 320 12th Street Columbus, Georgia, starting at 12:10 PM. The family will lay Mr. Manibusan to rest at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165 Ft. Mitchell, AL 36856, on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 1:30 PM.
Joseph Acfalle Manibusan was born to Cristina Acfalle and José M. Manibusan on April 27, 1955, in Guam. For someone who was always known to be the life of the party, Joseph found his purpose with the U.S. Army where he would rise in ranks and eventually become an instructor for the U.S. Government. Following twenty-one years of service, Joseph was able to retire and focus on what mattered most in his life, his family and pride and joy. After marrying, Juana Garcia on October 26, 1974, Mr. Manibusan became a well-loved and respected father and eventually grandfather to his family. Best remembered for his legendary barbeques and perfectly manicured yard, Joseph also leaves behind a legacy of serving others, showing love to those in need, and always striving to do the right thing.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Juana Garcia; children Eric D. (Allison) Manibusan; and Mina M. (Michael) Heimbach; many siblings Marie (Joseph) Mesa, Bennet (Larry) Cruz, Dee (Julian) Taimanao, Ann Santos, Martha (Jim) Harris, Christopher (Tara) Manibusan, Pedro Manibusan, Danny (Lorna) Manibusan and Victor (Dorie) Manibusan; and grandchildren Eric J. Manibusan, Jordan K. Manibusan, Jonathan D. Manibusan, Michael J. Heimbach, Mikayla D. Heimbach, Bryce Davis and Braydon Davis. Mr. Manibusan also leaves behind 43 nieces and nephews along with many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
