Josephine L. Martin

Josephine Leila Brockett Martin "Little Jo" passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Martin Army Medical Center, Fort Benning, GA at the age of 77. Mrs. Martin was born in Pensacola, FL on October 7, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Brockett. Celebration of Life services will be held at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Saturday, August 13, 2011, 1 p.m. with Father Mariusz Fuks officiating. Mrs. Martin was a lifetime member of American Legion, Women's Auxillary and also VFW Ladies Auxillary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, CSM (Ret) Donald Eugene Martin; her daughters, Donna Elizabeth Martin and Elouise Aletha Martin Hammond "Ellie". Mrs. Martin is survived by three sons, Bill Martin and his wife Tullan of Kenneaw, GA, Joe Martin and his wife Lynda of Kingston, GA, and John Martin of Columbus; one sister, Eva Robarts of Medford, OR; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
