Juanita Johnson

Juanita Johnson, age 86, resident of Fortson, Georgia, died on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Saturday, November 15, 2014, 11 a.m. with Reverend David Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 5-7 p.m.

Mrs. Johnson, daughter of the late William Addis Wyrick and Nancy Mabel Williams Wyrick, was born August 22, 1928 in Columbus. She was a homemaker and member of New Testament Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Quinn Thomas Johnson; siblings, Irby Whatley, Willie Whatley, Hazel Cook, Warren Wyrick, Helen Dickson, Opel Griggs, and Johnny Wyrick. She is survived by three children, David Johnson and his wife Yvonne of Fortson, Georgia, Sheila McCardle and her husband Charles of Albany, Georgia, and Jeff Johnson and his wife Melita of New Jersey; one sister, Janis Thornton Ford; eight grandchildren, Paige Taylor, Becky Land, Seth Johnson, John Johnson, Luke McCardle, Matthew McCardle, Shanna O’Hara, and Allen Johnson; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
