Judy A. Ethridge

Judy was born February 14, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia to Mary N. Scarbrough Kernop and Willard A. Kernop. She was a life-long resident of Columbus. Judy was a newly single mother raising three small children. She worked in the mill while going to school to improve her and her children’s opportunities. Judy graduated from nursing school and began her new career at Muscogee Manor Nursing Home. She loved to dance, cook for family gatherings and playing with her grandchildren. She taught her children by example to be self-reliant and hard working. Judy will be remembered for always being there and caring for people.

Her husband, James Ethridge; son, Mark Miles; father, Willard A. Kernop; mother, Mary N. Scarbrough Kernop; and brothers, Johnny Kernop, Terry Kernop and Jimmy Kernop, preceded Judy in death.

She is survived by her son, Danny Miles; daughter, Ramona McWilliams; step-sons, James E Ethridge and Timothy Ethridge; step-daughter, Kathy Jordan; sister, Mary Van Hourne; grandchildren, Jared Amerson, Brett Johnson and Casey Marshal; nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
