Julia was born December 22, 1926 in Ellaville, Georgia; the daughter of Roy L. Mathews and Theresa Mathews. Julia graduated from Oglethorpe Consolidated High School, Oglethorpe, GA and lived in the Columbus area most of her adult life.
She married Walter M. Holland, Sr. and together they were members of Wynnton United Methodist Church and followers of Christ. Julia worked at Bill Heard’s Chevrolet for many years, and then she became a Certified Public Accountant and opened her accounting business, which she operated for many years, and she worked until the week of her passing. Most of all, she loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She was a wonderful person, a loving, caring mother who sometimes would aggravate her children, but she was usually right and always had their best interest in mind.
Julia is survived by: sons Walter Marion Holland, Jr. (Debbie Watkins Holland), Roy William Holland (Tina Watson Holland); grandchild Chris Benson (Mica), grandchild Adam Holland (Sheree), grandchild David Holland (Analisa), grandchild Bryan Holland (Lea), grandchild Hannah Holland and grandchild Kimberly Shafer.
Mrs. Holland also leaves her 18 great-grandchildren, Aubriana Benson, Isabela Benson, Ophelia Benson, Christopher Benson, Violet Benson, Elijah Rodriguez, Makenzie Stevens, Zane Holland, Addison Holland, Nikkey (Wesley) Reece, Rachelle Holland, David Holland, Devin Holland, RA Gutierrez, Liberty Holland, Sabela Holland, Neveah Bernard, and Elijah Bernard to cherish her memory.
