

Justin Brian Gordy, age 25, resident of Knoxville, Tennessee and former resident of Columbus, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, 6 p.m. with Reverend Michael Shane Pippin officiating. The family will receive friends with reception after the service at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 till 8 p.m. Gordy, was born October 12, 1987 in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated from Northside High School in 2006 and was a member of Cornerstone Church of God, Columbus. Gordy enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a collector of guns and knives, and was an avid Auburn fan. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jack T. Gordy; paternal great-grandmother, Ethel Hill; maternal grandfather, Gerald Gill; paternal great-grandfathers, Hugh Hale and William Gill; and maternal great-grandmothers, Edith Hale and Margaret Gill. Gordy is survived by his father, Dean Gordy of Phenix City, Alabama; his mother, Teresa Dorminey and her husband Dwayne of Columbus; two sons, Carter Rhylan Gordy and Mason Brian Gordy, both of Knoxville, Tennessee; one sister, Kaylon Dorminey of Columbus; four brothers, Michael Dorminey, Matthew Dorminey and his wife Erin, of Columbus; Lawrence Gordy and Daniel Gordy, both of Phenix City, Alabama; former spouse, Jade Gordy of Knoxville, Tennessee; numerous aunts; uncles; nieces; cousins; and friends.
