

Katherine “Kay” Marie Stein, 79, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Midtown Medical Center. She was born on June 21, 1934, to the late Edward and Gladys Russ Prunty of Bear Creek, WI. Kay was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was Catholic by faith.
A private interment will be Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery Columbus, GA. Father Dan O’Connell will be officiating. The family will have a Memorial Service and Mass on her birthday, June 21, 2014 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church 320 12th Street Columbus, GA, with the public invited.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Stein is predeceased in death by four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Dr. Joseph Stein, three daughters; Dr. Stephanie Gardner and her husband Michael Young of Johns Creek, GA, Dr. Stacy Gryboski and her husband William of Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Shelly Stein and her husband Mark Bynum of Tampa, FL, six grandchildren; Andrew, Adam, and Abigail Gardner, Kate and Daisy Gryboski, and Markus Stein Bynum, one brother; Edward Prunty of Green Bay, WI, and three sisters; Mrs. Thomas (Lois) Egan of Evergreen, CO, Mrs. Patrick (Priscilla) Flanagan of St. Paul, MN, and Mrs. Albert (Ann) Clough of Madison, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be given in Mrs. Stein’s honor to Holy Family Catholic Church. Condolences may be offered on www.shcolumbus.com.
