Kathryn E. Ely

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 12:30 pm in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Buddy Lamb officiating. Interment to follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Active Pallbearers will be, Robert Ely, Jacob Ely, John Ely and Todd Spencer.

Kathryn was born in Appleton, WI. on July 30, 1939 to the late John Stark and Marcella Meidam Stark. She was a faithful member of Schomburg Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and loved helping with Wednesday night suppers. Kathryn was an avid NASCAR fan, she also enjoyed reading, arts & crafts or just doing a good crossword puzzle. Most of all she loved taking care of her family. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Ely, brothers, Peter Stark and Jim Stark.

She is survived by her three sons, Donald Ely and wife Christine, of Columbus, GA. Doug Ely and wife Danna from Wedowee, AL. and David Ely and wife Patty of Columbus, GA. eight grandchildren, Tesa Holloway, John Ely, Angela Stephens, Virginia Turner, Jessica Ely, Jacob Ely, Amy Spencer and Robert Ely, 12 great grandchildren, a niece, Shelly Edwards, a brother-in-law, Jim Ely and wife Gerry and a sister-in-law, Connie Ely.

Flowers are accepted or donations in Kathryn’s memory may be made to Schomburg Road Baptist Church.
