Lamar Kenneth Shaw

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 20, 2012 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, with Reverend Hugh Shirah officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Shaw was born May 8, 1941 in Griffin, GA, son of the late, Adol and Helen Wynn Shaw. He retired from Southern Bell after many years of service and attended Watoola United Methodist Church.

Mr. Shaw was an outstanding knowledgeable man that was well known throughout the racing circuit. He was well known for building race cars at dirt tracks throughout the south. Racing cars was a significant part of his life.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ann Gresham Shaw.

Survivors include one son, Kevin Lamar Shaw, and his wife, Donna; one daughter, Michelle Diederich and her husband, Dana; one grandson, Noah; one sister, Jean Player; two brothers, Jimmy Shaw and Larry Shaw; numerous nieces and nephews.
