Sam had arrived in Columbus in 1942, courtesy of the US Army. Sadie Bell was born in Columbus and her family has been involved in Jewish Community life for many years. Larry attended the public schools in Columbus and graduated from Hardaway High School. Most of his adult life was spent in Atlanta. Larry had a varied work life. Perhaps his favorite undertaking was the creation and operation of his own business, a deli in Atlanta known as Boychicks.
Larry is survived by his Sister, Barbara S. Wilensky (Frank). Though he never married and had no children of his own, "Uncle" Larry was a favorite of his nieces and nephew, Lauren Chernau, Robyn Farmer and Jake Wilensky, as well as his seven great nieces and nephews, Madelyn, Grant, Mason, Teige, Luke, Sydney and Juliet. Larry had many good friends, who really became family through the years.
Larry's final years were difficult, health-wise, but he managed to stay in touch with family and friends. He will be missed.
