She was born on January 12, 1926, in Terrell County Georgia, the daughter of Frank Davis and Tessa Weathersby. She went by Lillian, but her favorite names were Momma, Mom, and MeMa, because her family was her highest priority. She was also known as a Godly woman. Her favorite verses included Isaiah 55: 1-11. She also loved to cook and take care of her family and friends. In her younger days, she loved to travel and you would often find her at her grand children’s events. She worked for 43 years as a clerk with Tom’s Foods, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, a member of Double Churches Home Makers Club, a W.O.M member, a member of Tom’s Quarter Century Club, W.M.D Moye chapter 427, and a member of Eastern Star 261.
Lillian is preceded in death by both of her parents, and her husband of 72 years, Jack Desmond Ramsey. She had twelve siblings that all preceded her in death except for two, Martha Sherman of Columbus, Georgia and Dorothy Fussell of Jacksonville, Florida.
Lillian is also survived by her son, Richard Desmond Ramsey; her daughter, Gloria Skinner White; her three grandchildren, James Ramsey, Leslie Robertson Patterson (Mike), and Amanda Patel (Mickey); as well as her four great grandchildren, Anastasia Robertson, Charles Robertson, Madelyn Patel, and Gavin Patel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to Georgia Hospice in Lillian’s honor. Their address is 1921 Whittlesey Road, Suite 110 Columbus, Georgia 31904.
Lillian will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
