Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Parkhill Cemetery with Pastor Mike Childs officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the funeral home.

Linda Maye Morris Harris was born on January 1, 1950 in Columbus, GA, to the late Genie Riley Morris,II and Marjorie Elizabeth McQuaig Morris. Mrs. Harris was a member of The River of Columbus Church, she was a 1968 graduate of Hardaway High School, in 1970 she attended Columbus State University where she received her Associate in Nursing and in 1975 received her B.A. in Psychology. In 1976 she received her M.Ed in Counseling and Psychological Services at Georgia State University Ft. Benning, GA. In 1970 she began her career as a Psychiatric R.N. at the Medical Center in Columbus, GA. In 1972she began State service with the Columbus Health Department as a Public Health Nurse. Retired May 1, 2006 from the New Horizons Community Service Board’s Utilization Management Department after 34 years’ State service as a Registered Nurse and Licensed Professional Counselor.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years: Tommy Mitcham Harris, a daughter: Melanie Suzanne Harris of Columbus, GA, two brothers: Genie Riley Morris, III and his wife Roxanne of Columbus, GA, and John Wayne McQuaig and his wife Sherry of Sneads, FL.
