Louise England Patten, 81, of Columbus Georgia, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 13651 Old Hwy 76, Morganton, GA, with Pastor Tim Taylor, officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
Louise was born September 5, 1941, in Blairsville, Georgia; the daughter of John E. England and Mamie L. Everett. She graduated as Valedictorian from Union County High School, Blairsville, Georgia and received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from The University of Georgia.
After Graduation, She became a Governmental Auditor – Civil Service at Fort Benning and retired from that position.
Louise was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She was involved in many community activities including being a part of the teaching staff of The Dale Carnegie Classes; The Miss Georgia Pageant as Board Member, Secretary, and Traveling Companion of a number of Miss Georgias, throughout Georgia and to the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City; The Columbus Jaycettes; United Methodist Women; The Winchester Garden Club' and The Columbus Council of Garden Clubs.
She also enjoyed traveling, cruising, and attending performances at The Springer Opera House and The Columbus RiverCenter. She loved going home to North Georgia and visiting with her many relatives in the area.
Louise is survived by her loving of husband of 58 years, Judson W. Patten; Sister, LaVerne Cobb, and nieces Teresa Ross and Helen Stanley and nephews Ben Patten and Britt Patten; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
