

A graveside service will be held in Parkhill Cemetery on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Scott Tucker officiating. Her family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Louise Ward Simmons was born on November 11, 1918 in Girard, Alabama second daughter to the late Georgia Hill Ward and Benjamin K. Ward, sister to the late Winona Ward, Mary Ward Koon, and Jack Ward. Louise was a graduate from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. She was married to the late Harold W. Simmons and worked as a secretary at Swift Mills for many years. Mrs. Simmons was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working a variety of word puzzles, crosswords, search and find, etc. She also enjoyed watching and participating at home, the game shows of Wheel-of-Fortune and Jeopardy, most of the time she would need only one letter to solve the puzzle.
Mrs. Simmons leaves her two daughters, Carol Simmons Kennon (Russell McBryde) and Lisa Simmons Crenshaw (Bobby); two grandchildren, Erin Pearce (Mark) and Joshua Crenshaw (Mandi); four great-grandchildren, Cameron Pearce, Matthew Pearce, Peyton Crenshaw, and Elisjah Crenshaw; niece, Sherry Fiquett (Terry); nephews, Gene Koon (Linda) and Cary Ward; great niece, Amy Koon; great nephew, David Koon and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
