Mamie “Lois” Hughes, 92, of Columbus, Ga, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Magnolia Manor. Services will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on December 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM in Edgewood Hall; interment to follow Parkhill Cemetery.
Mamie choose to use her middle name “Lois” throughout her life. Lois was the daughter of Patti Angus Burch and Amanda Jane Spooner Burch. She retired from Tom’s Foods in Columbus, GA and was a member of the Evangel Temple. Lois enjoyed working in her yard and sewing. She loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mamie is preceded in death by: her first husband, Roy Edward Hughes, second husband, Vernon Davis.
Survivors include: her daughter, Patrina Barentine; two sons, Lamar Hughes and Ronnie Hughes;
daughter-in-law, Robbie Hughes; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
